Michael Jackson…one of the most, if not THE most, talented of people in all of history. People put him down, accused him of terrible things, and judged him all the time.

Can you even imagine growing up in the spotlight, and not ever being able to have a ‘normal’ childhood? A normal life? I’m sure there were a lot of people who tried to tell him what he should do and how he should live his life.  We can’t possibly imagine what Michael went through, how afraid he must have been of people, and how much he surely longed to be ‘free’ of the prison his life must have become.

Do you think that there is anyone on the planet who could possibly know what it was like to be Michael Jackson? No matter how famous you may be, it would still be impossible to put yourself in his shiny black shoes.

Michael Jackson in the ultimate example, but YOU are just as important.  You are just as unique, and no one on the planet can possibly know what it’s like to be ‘you’ and what it’s like to live ‘your’ life.

Do you know any small business owners or do YOU own a small business? If so, then you know the huge responsibilities you carry around with you every day… making sure your clients are happy by making sure you have a great product or provide a great service that they will pay for. If you have employees, it’s important to take care of them, make sure they are happy, and that you sell enough of your product or service so you can provide them a with a paycheck.  If that’s not enough, there’s still the rent and bills to pay (yours AND your business),  including high taxes (whatever the minimum wage is, a business owner still has payroll taxes piled on top of that, not to mention all the other expenses that go along with it!). Small business owners don’t work 9-5 either, it’s more like 24/7 and I know many (including myself) who haven’t had a day off or a vacation in a very long time. If you don’t own a small business, then there is no way you know what it’s like to have the kind of burning passion that makes you struggle every single day to keep the doors open so you can share that passion with the world.

Are you a single parent? Struggle with a learning disability? Homeless? There are as many ‘life situations’ in the world as there are people, so the point is this…You’re the ONLY one responsible for your life, and the ONLY one living it. Just like the person next door, the person you see living on the street, the person driving in the car beside you. You have no right to judge them, or even begin to know what happens when they’re out of your sight. Not only that, but remember that they have no idea what it’s like to be YOU either!
